    Barry Linnane

    Barry is a paediatric respiratory consultant and director of the Paediatric CF service in University Hospital Limerick. He is an adjunct clinical associate professor with University of Limerick Graduate Entry Medial School. His research interests are early CF lung disease, CF newborn screening, and medical device innovation.

    Brian Casserly

    Prof Brian Casserly completed his training in the Mater Misericordia Hospital Dublin. Thereafter, he moved to United States and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (IM,PCCM,DABSM). He joined the faculty in Brown University as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. He returned to his present position as Respiratory consultant with Cystic Fibrosis in University Hospital Limerick. In 2012, he became a fellow of RCPI (FRCPI) and twice received Graduate Entry Medical School University of Limerick (GEMS) adjunct research awards in 2013 and 2015. Prof Casserly recently conferred as a Professor with the University of Limerick GEMS.

    Siobhan McGrane

    Dr Siobhán McGrane is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Paediatric Radiology at University Hospital Limerick and University Maternity Hospital Limerick.

  • Physiotherapist

    Rebecca White

    Rebecca is a Senior Physiotherapist who has been working in the paediatric CF team at University Hospital Limerick for 3 years. Rebecca qualified with Physiotherapy Bsc (Hons) from the University of Nottingham in 2009. Rebecca has an interest in virtual health, remote monitoring and patient centred service development.

    Magdalena Mulligan

    Magdalena graduated from University of Limerick (UL) in 2011 with a PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She also has a MSc degree in Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology from Gdansk University of Technology (GUT). Presently, her role is a Clinical Research Coordinator at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) in the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) department. Her main interest is in early CF lung disease and Multiple Breath Washout (MBW). Magdalena is coordinating “RECOVER” study in UHL.

    Mary Casey

    Mary Casey is an experienced Nursing professional with extensive expertise and a proven ability in Clinical Nursing and multi-disciplinary environments within the Health Service Executive organisation. She is Currently practising as a Clinical Nursing Manager 2, in the Clinical Trials -Respiratory Unit in the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at University Hospital Limerick. A registered member of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, Mary also holds a Diploma in Health Services Management from University College Limerick. Further to qualifying at St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin, Mary worked as a staff nurse in a private hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa for 5 years. On her return to Ireland, Mary continued her career with the Health Service Executive Midwest region, where she has a distinguished career holding various senior nursing positions.
