    Mary Herzig

    Dr. Mary Herzig is a Consultant in General and Respiratory Medicine in Galway University Hospital. She is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in The University of Galway. She is the lead for respiratory services, including CF, for the West and Northwest of the Republic of Ireland, encompassing 5 hospitals within the Saolta University Healthcare Group (SUHG). She has worked as a Consultant in Galway since 2008 after completing a Fellowship in the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. She is the former Clinical Director for Paediatrics and Neonatology for SUHG and has been involved in service planning and resourcing at national levels. The Cystic Fibrosis Department in GUH has been involved in Aztreonam, Oligo-C, and modulator drug trials. She is currently embarking on a Masters in Healthcare Simulation and Patient Safety so that this modality can be integrated into routine General Paediatric and Respiratory training.
